fishing photo When you're fishing the Madison River Valley in Montana you're fishing the hottest fly fishing river anywhere! With the estimated number of rainbow trout of 10 inches or more over 1500 per mile and brown trout measuring 17 - 19 inches in equal or even greater numbers, fly fishing the Madison river between Quake Lake and Ennis lake offers the fly fishing angler an unforgettable experience.

The Madison River is a big river that offers everything from fast flowing rapids to wide meandering areas as it passes through Ennis and a few miles downstream into Ennis Lake it offers the angler a wide variety of choices. Whether you're a wade angler or prefer a float or drift trip -- Ennis is the town and the Riverside Motel and RV Park is best place in town. Not only is it the closest lodging to the river, it's a great place to call 'home base' from which to visit all the other places and things to do in this area - including, Virgina City, Bannock (the original capital of Montana - now a ghost town), and the closest to the Entrance to Yellowstone National Park.

The hosts at the Riverside Model and RV Park are both knowledgeable and eager to share with you their knowledge of the area and best places for both fishing and sightseeing. They will offer fly fishing tips, for both the experienced and beginner fly fishing enthusiast then point you to the best places to catch those trout and recommend the fly best suited for the particular time you're here. They will also arrange float/drift trips if that's your preference. Call for reservations or more information at 406-682-4240.
